| This is Beki-Wan Kenobi in her outer robe. The robe is hand sewn out of 100% cotton fabric. Inside are many hidden pockets. I am standing just outside my door at my residence. Once in awhile, my friend and I had light saber battles in the parking lot.
I chose to model myself after the young Obi-Wan shortly after seeing THE PHANTOM MENACE in 1999. I really liked Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. I liked the idea of being beside him and being his padawan. So my choice of being Obi-Wan had more to do with who I stood next to than even Obi-Wan himself.
As a character, Obi-Wan wasn't as warm as Qui-Gon. He was more into line and rule, even at the expense of compassion. This became even more evident in ATTACK OF THE CLONES. He represents a certain type of personality that is common among religious extremists. Following the rules becomes all important. It is not to say that rules and orderly institutions have no purpose, but it can go out of balance much like the Pharisees of Jesus' day.
After seeing REVENGE OF THE SITH, I saw the darker side of Obi-Wan manifest in the extreme. He became less attractive as a character. I therefore kept the young Obi-Wan look in the days when he stood next to Qui Gon Jinn and hadn't made such fatal errors. If I had been him, it would have turned out differently. I'd know when it is time to bend the rules for the sake of compassion and tolerance.
