This is the first cat in my life. He came to us when I was seven years old. He was a stray that was hanging around that managed to win over our affections. At first mother was a hard sell, but she softened when he got an injured leg. She took him to the vet. After that, he was adopted officially.

These are old black and white photos. It was the 1970's when these pictures were taken with a 1940's Leika camera and hand developed in a darkroom. Now decades later, I touched them up in Adobe Photoshop to put on the web for the first time.

Sam was a very regal cat and had a strong sense of importance. If you wanted to pat him, he had to approve of you first. He was gleaming white with cinnamon color.
