Long Lake / Raquette River Canoe Trip
November 6-7, 1999

Directions to launch area: Take the New York State Thruway (I90) to Rt. 12 N, then to Rt. 28 N, and then left onto Rt. 30 at the base of Blue Mountain. Take Rt. 30 N until you arrive in Long Lake, taking a left at the intersection. Soon the road curves abruptly to the left at the water's edge; just before this curve, take a right onto a road which leads to the launch site.

The following is an account of a two-day, 40-mile trip ranging from Long Lake to Raquette Falls and back.
