| Qui-Gon Jinn is clearly the Jesus figure of Star Wars. Qui-Gon is the only Jedi that considers the Force to be alive, having a will that you are to obey. The other Jedi use the Force like you use your toaster. Like Jesus in the Bible, Qui-Gon believes you follow the will of the living Force.
Qui-Gon also believed in helping pathetic life forms, meaning beings that no one else would bother with. Qui-Gon was considered the Jedi of compassion which was a core trait of Jesus. Yaddle was the only other Jedi that had compassion as a trait, so she would be the Holy Spirit figure in Star Wars. Too bad in Episode I we saw too little of her. Qui-Gon was set up by the Jedi council to be killed. Mace Windu gave Qui-Gon the direct orders to find this Sith lord. Mace was the Caiaphas of the Star Wars galaxy, since the Jedi Council had Qui-Gon killed as much as the Jewish council had Jesus killed. That would make them the false church, the Whore of Babylon, having done blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
Qui-Gon was the key. If he had lived to train Anakin, Anakin would have never become Darth Vader. Qui-Gon's and Yaddle's death represent the time when God (the Force) removes His spirit from the world. This is the end of the time of grace, where forgiveness is the main force acting on man. Now it is judgment or the Great Tribulation.
Anakin was between a rock and a hard place, so to speak. Anakin had to choose to worship the Whore of Babylon (the Jedi) or the Beast (Palpatine). Anakin chooses the Beast, which believe it or not, was the better of the two choices since God Himself says when the Whore is finally destroyed, you can clap; and all the angels in Heaven will celebrate. Every other time that God has mited judgment, you were told to do so in a solemn manner, including when the Beast dies. Only the Whore's death does God say you can party, so to speak. Obviously the Whore is considered worse.
At the end of Episode III, we find out from Yoda that to commune with Qui-Gon is the path to eternal life, again showing that he is the Jesus figure of Star Wars. Since according to the Bible, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no man cometh to the Father but by me." Jesus is the one speaking these words in the Book of John.
Qui-Gon was the only Jedi who was kind to Anakin and truly loved Anakin. Even though Qui-Gon was alive briefly in Anakin's life, he obviously touched Anakin's spirit and left a piece of love in Anakin's spirit. This love left by Qui-Gon is what gave Vader the ability to save Luke and turn back into Anakin Skywalker as a ghost at the end of Episode VI.
