| On the other hand, there is the esoteric story. The esoteric story is much more subtle than the materialist one because it talks about the Force and how it operates. The esoteric story if understood is far more frightening than the materialist one. Why? It is because it speaks of a time when the Force itself switches from Yang (positive Light Side energies) to Yin (negative Dark Side energies). On the esoteric front, the Force or "God" has switched into judgement mode. The Force calls on Shiva the Destroyer (Vader) to bring about judgement. Shiva the Destroyer in western would be the Archangel of Death. Because Shiva is the archangel of God who gives the breath of life (according to the Sanskrit), as Destroyer, Shiva brings the choke of death (Vader). The Vader choke is referred to in the Sanskrit and the Jewish and Christian Bible in the Book of Exodus. Shiva (the Archangel of Death) was called down by God (the Force) to kill the first born Egyptians to free the Hebrew slaves from the Egyptians. The Egyptians were killed by the Vader choke. This archangel literally took their breath away.
First Mace admits their ability to use the Force is diminished. This was in reference to the passive clairvoyance, the ability to see into the future. Traditionally only the passive clairvoyances are a gift of the Force. You do not earn these. The aggressive abilities such as telepathy and telekinesis are mastered through witchcraft, sorcery, and other disciplines. That is why only the passive abilities were taken. As you notice, the Jedi still can throw droids, jump high, and do well at light saber fighting, all representative of the aggressive magic arts. These are outward thrusting. The Jedi are under grave judgement because their lamp stand has been removed. The Force sides with Palpatine and chooses his form to act. This has been done in other harsh times in history. The Force as Mithras in the Persian religion is a black-hooded figure who is feared and severe. In the Viking religion, the Force is called Odin who is also a black-hooded figure with a patch over one eye. There is no mercy here, only judgment. Mercy died with Qui-Gon Jinn.
When Vader kills all the Jedi, it is the same as if the Archangel of Death were to kill the false church of today. Obi-Wan represents the Whore of Babylon because Obi-Wan has the image of righteousness but is really a nest of vipers underneath. Obi-Wan leads Anakin into perdition by his over-nagging, not allowing Anakin the proper space necessary for growth, and an over controlling attitude. Obi-Wan never repents from his false self-righteous attitude. Obi-Wan saw himself as always right. He even tries to get Luke Skywalker to kill Vader. Luckily Luke does not fall for all Obi-Wan's and Yoda's brainwash so Luke has mercy on Vader and saves him in the end. Other religions warn of this phony self-righteous attitude also. In the Hindu you are warned not to pretend to be enlightened, as with the Buddhists. False religion comes in many forms. This cycle goes round and round of mercy to judgement, but it is the final one which is the most deadly. The Hindu call it Kaliyuga or time of Shiva the Destroyer. The Christians call it the Great Tribulation. The Norse call it Ragnarok. Most religions describe a last and final terrible judgment. This last judgment would be like if only Episode I-III were made with no Episode IV-VI.
