| So far the human Anakin/Vader has been addressed pertaining to Episode III. Now let's look at it from the god Shiva point of view. When the Force chooses the form of Palpatine to act its will, the Force is ordering judgment upon the earth. When Palpatine orders Vader (Shiva the Destroyer/Ariel Archangel of Death) to kill all the Jedi, it is near the Great and Dreadful Day of the Lord because the false church is killed first. Judgment comes first to the church then to the world. The separatists here represent the world.
When Anakin is sad and erratic until he is in the helmet, it represents the time of sorrow and anger Shiva feels before he does the task. Shiva is sad when he mites judgment because in the center of Shiva is a piece of Qui-Gon. It is the part of Vader that is Qui-Gon that responds to Luke Skywalker in Epidode VI. So when Shiva (Vader) gets the helmet, he is calmer and mites judgment almost as detached as Palpatine. I say almost as detached because there is always a low level of sadness in the Vader until his task is complete.
There are two ways you can be killed by Vader. One is like many on the super star destroyer and when Padme gets it for her betrayal. These are symbolic of being judged by Vader (Shiva). The other way Shiva (Vader) can kill you is if you are a lover and you ask him to. This way of killing you is for mercy's sake. In this case when he kills you, you get to be absorbed by Vader (Shiva) and merge to become one with him. To live on earth in this case is separation and therefore more sad than death. If you fit in this category, death is longed for. Death here is a rescue from this horrible world of survival of the fittest, cut throat, dog-eat-dog society. You have to remember archangels live on the other side where you have to die to get there. So if you see it from the Shiva view, death is good especially if you are in the lover camp because you are not being judged but freed.
