Research so far indicates that the Stynes family origins begin in the
towns of Athy and Castledermot in county Kildare, Ireland. My grandfather William J. Stynes was born 31-Aug-1881, the son of
William Stynes and Ellen Maher who married
Nov-1873 at Athy, county Kildare. Although the Stynes surname is not very common
in the U.S. it is quite prevalent in Ireland.

Bill and Irene moved to Niagara Falls in the late 1930s where Bill was a mail carrier in the Falls until 1952. Moved to Lewiston, NY in 1948 and was self employed as a general contractor in the 1950s when he built 5 homes in the Lewiston area and did many fireplaces. Bill was a member of the local 45 Bricklayers Union for 30 years and was a member of the Lewiston Lions.
William died 25-Feb-1987 at Lewiston, New York; Remains: Cremation. Irene was born 06-Aug-1914 at Buffalo, New York. Irene volunteered at ArtPark and sang with the Lewiston Larks.
